Holdfast features a wide variety of classes spread across Nations At War and Frontlines. Each class has unique weapons, abilities, and a role on the battlefield. Choose your class wisely — a well-balanced team wins battles.

Frontline

The backbone of any army. These classes form the battle line and do the bulk of the fighting.

Line Infantry, Grenadiers, Guards — the core musket-armed soldiers who hold the line and fire in volleys.
Hussars, Dragoons, and Cuirassiers — mounted soldiers who charge enemy lines and harass flanks.

Command

Leaders who buff nearby troops and coordinate the battle through the high command order system.

Infantry Officers and Sergeants — issue formation orders, rally troops, and provide combat buffs.
The full order system — charges, volleys, form line, rally, and how buffs work.

Ranged & Skirmisher

Light troops and sharpshooters who operate independently ahead of or on the flanks of the main battle line.

Light Infantry, Riflemen, and Coast Guard — accurate ranged fighters with lighter loadouts.
How firearms work — aiming, bullet drop, reload speeds, and weapon comparisons.

Support

Classes that keep the army fighting — healing, building, resupplying, and inspiring through music.

Surgeons, Sappers, Flag Bearers, and Musicians — healing, construction, morale buffs, and resupply.
Passive abilities unique to each class — medicine, engineering, artillery operation, and more.
What Sappers and Engineers can build — stakes, gabions, palisades, barbed wire, MG emplacements.

Specialist

Heavy weapon operators who bring devastating firepower to the battlefield.

Cannoneers, Rocketeers, and Artillerymen — cannons, mortars, rockets, howitzers, and MGs.
