Overview
Classes in Holdfast can have Traits and Abilities. Traits define characteristics that affect class performance, such as movement speed, damage, accuracy, or reload speed. Abilities control actions available to a class, such as issuing orders, healing, building, or using specialist equipment.

| Blunderbuss Specialisation | Excels with the use of blunderbusses. Your damage when firing a blunderbuss is increased by 5% and accuracy by 10%. | |
| Cannon Specialisation | Excels with the use and firing of cannons and mortars. Your ramming and pushing speed is increased by 15%. | |
| Chosen Man | The prestigious 95th. You're a chosen man. It makes you feel special. | |
| Distinguishable | Stand out from the rank and file. You appear differently on the mini-map. | |
| Elite Infantry | Heavily trained and experienced. The damage that you deal with melee weapons is increased by 20%. You wield a musket with greater melee range than others. | |
| Explosives Specialist | Trained with the use of volatile explosives. The rate at which you move while carrying explosives is increased by 25%. | |
| Light Footed | Fast and nimble. Your running speed is increased by 7% but you deal less damage with melee weapons. | |
| Marksman | Crack-shot. Your accuracy when using firearms is increased by 25% but your reload speed is decreased by 15%. In Frontlines, the reload modifier is 0%. | |
| Mounted Firearm Specialisation | Experienced with the use of firearms while on horseback. Your damage when firing pistols and carbines from horseback is increased by 10% and accuracy by 10%. | |
| Mounted Sword Specialisation | Drilled in various sword combat techniques while on horseback. Your damage when wielding a sword while on horseback is increased significantly. | |
| Musket Specialisation | Excels with the use of muskets. Your damage when firing a musket is increased by 15%. You also deal 5% more damage when striking with a bayonet. | |
| Orderly | Strength in numbers. You significantly increase your chances of surviving shots from firearms at longer distances while standing in formation. You must be standing in line for this trait to become active. | |
| Pike Specialisation | Excels with the use of boarding pikes. Your damage when wielding a pike is increased by 10%. | |
| Pistol Specialisation | Excels with the use of pistols. Your damage when firing a pistol is increased by 10% and accuracy by 10%. | |
| Rank Discipline | Drilled and disciplined in the art of firing whilst in formation. Your accuracy when standing is increased by 8% with an additional 5% if crouching and firing. | |
| Resilient | A strong sense of duty. Melee damage dealt to you by other players is reduced by 15%. | |

| Skilful Rider | Well-versed in the art of horseback riding. Your speed while riding a horse is increased by 10%. | |
| Skirmisher | Drilled with knowledge on skirmishing tactics. Your accuracy when using firearms while crouching is increased by 5% but you receive more damage when stricken by melee weapons. In Frontlines, the accuracy bonus is 15%. | |
| Sword Specialisation | Excels with the use of swords. Your damage when wielding a sword is increased by 5%. | |
| Siege Specialization | Your expertise in the handling of siege equipment provides you with priority over the use of carriable ladders. | |
| Barrelman | Accuracy is increased by 15% whilst on a ship or by 25% whilst in a ship's fighting top. | |
| Presence | Your indomitable presence on deck makes capturing the vessel you're aboard more difficult. You count as 2 men instead of 1 while on a friendly ship. | |
| Fast Musket Reload | Drilled with the way of a certain British rifleman, your reload speed when using muskets is increased by 10%. | |
| Musket Drill | While reloading, movement speed is reduced by 15% but reload speed is increased by 15%. | |
| Versatile | Reload speed is increased by 10% and accuracy is increased by 10% while wielding your musket with its bayonet detached. | |
| Fine Powder | You carry fewer but more powerful and accurate rifle cartridges. | |
| Built Different | You're built different and can swing and carry the 2H Haxe with ease. |

| Standard Bearer | Parade your faction's colours in the field of battle. You improve the rate at which firearms are reloaded for the rank and file by 10% when your flag is equipped. You also further increase the chance of survival to those in the ranks sporting the Orderly trait when shot at by firearms. | |
| Dash | Sprint quickly with your forward running speed increased by 25%. Press Dash key to trigger the dash ability. | |
| Steady Aim | Briefly stop moving for a focused shot. Your field of view is reduced while your accuracy is increased by 50%. Press Steady Aim key to trigger the steady aim ability. | |
| Carpenter Berserk | Equip your axe and go onto a rampage decreasing the damage you take from firearms, melee weapons, and increasing run speed. You will not be able to switch to another weapon while this ability is active. | |
| Bayonet Handling | Drilled in the handling of bayonets. Charge with a bayonet equipped and make use of your trusty musket as a makeshift spear in melee combat or detach it from your weapon to gather a 8% increase in firearm accuracy. | Artillery Operator | Well versed in the operation of various artillery pieces. You have priority over the use of field guns, siege guns and mortars. Grants the ability to see where your mortar shots lands. | |
